Roger Federer Triumphs in US Open Return at 45

Roger Federer made his return to the US Open at the age of 45, participating in an exhibition event titled “An Icon Returns to New York” on August 26. He played at Arthur Ashe Stadium, where he first defeated fellow former world number one Andy Roddick in singles.

Following this, Federer partnered with John McEnroe to secure a doubles victory over Roddick and Andre Agassi. This marked Federer’s first appearance at the US Open since 2019, and the crowd's enthusiastic response highlighted his enduring popularity as a 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Federer reminisced about his early experiences in New York, including his first match against Agassi in 2001. Although he retired from professional tennis in 2022, his return to the court was more about celebrating his legacy than pursuing competitive titles.

The exhibition showcased four tennis legends from different generations, and Federer left the court with two exhibition wins, reaffirming his strong connection to the tournament.
