Rohr Regrets Nigeria's Absence from FIFA World Cup

Gernot Rohr, the former coach of the Super Eagles, expressed his disappointment regarding Nigeria's absence from the FIFA World Cup, highlighting the significant progress made by African teams like Morocco and Senegal. He referred to Nigeria's continued absence from football's biggest stage as a "real shame," particularly noting the talents of players such as Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.

Rohr, who previously guided Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, lamented that Nigeria missed the 2022 World Cup qualification despite having a talented squad. He emphasized that Nigeria's failure to qualify was due to not playing as a cohesive team and dropping points early in the qualification campaign.

Rohr praised Morocco for reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and commended Senegal's display against France, despite their eventual loss. He expressed regret over Nigeria's absence, especially given the quality of players available.
