Osimhen Decries Nigeria's Absence from 2026 World Cup

Victor Osimhen, the striker for the Super Eagles, voiced his disappointment regarding Nigeria's absence from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stating that it is "bad." The tournament's qualification process began last week, with several African nations such as Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Tunisia, South Africa, and Algeria securing their spots. Nigeria, however, failed to qualify after losing a playoff match against DR Congo.

During a recent social media stream, Osimhen reflected on the situation, noting that missing the World Cup for the second consecutive time is unfortunate, but acknowledged that "sometimes life happens," and emphasized the need to keep moving forward. Osimhen currently plays for Galatasaray.
