Rotary Club Offers Free Hepatitis Screening in Abuja

The Rotary Club of Abuja Asokoro Diamond conducted a medical outreach in Chika community, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), offering free Hepatitis screening and vaccination on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day 2026. The event, themed “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” aimed to enhance community health and promote early detection of hepatitis and other preventable diseases.
President of the Rotary Club, Rotarian Olutola Ogunyemi, stated that the initiative was intended to support government efforts in providing quality healthcare to underserved communities. In addition to hepatitis services, beneficiaries received various health-related items, including mosquito nets, delivery kits, sanitary pads, diapers, liquid soap, bleach, deworming medication for children, and buckets and bowls for healthy living.
Maternal and child healthcare services were also provided, including health education for pregnant women and nursing mothers. Project chair, Rotarian Adeleke Shola Ayanronke, reaffirmed Rotary's commitment to humanitarian service and collaboration with communities to improve healthcare access and disease prevention.
