Rotary Club Offers Free Healthcare to Ogun Residents

The Rotary Club of Abeokuta, led by newly installed President Olorunsola Abiola, collaborated with corporate and humanitarian partners to deliver comprehensive maternal and child healthcare services to vulnerable residents in Ogun State. The medical outreach took place at Omida Market in Abeokuta and included malaria testing, HIV screening, and Hepatitis testing.

Patients diagnosed with acute conditions received free prescription drugs, while those needing specialized care were referred to hospitals. The initiative aimed to address healthcare gaps and promote disease prevention among underserved populations.

Abiola noted that the program exceeded its initial target of 200 beneficiaries, highlighting the urgent need for healthcare support. The project also addressed period poverty by providing free sanitary pads and educational sessions for female beneficiaries and adolescent girls.

Healthcare volunteers conducted lectures on pre and post-natal care, infant nutrition, and personal sanitation. The initiative was executed in partnership with the Matthew Jesuwunmi Legacy Foundation, Josrite Pharmacy, and Jezze Medical and Maternity Store.
