Rotary International and Gombe State Offer Free Healthcare

Rotary International, in collaboration with the Gombe State Government, conducted a healthcare outreach program that provided free medical services to 1,275 residents across five communities: London Manawashi, Kachallari, Peshong, Fada, and Gujuba. The outreach involved 51 healthcare personnel, including nurses, midwives, community health officers, and social mobilization officers.

Prof. Emmanuel Lufadeju, the country director and national coordinator, spoke during the outreach, emphasizing the program's impact on addressing health challenges in the communities.

Mallam Said Garba, the chairman of the Ward Development Committee, expressed gratitude for the initiative, which included the distribution of 65 birth kits to expectant mothers. The outreach served various beneficiaries, including children aged 0-15 months, children aged 5-15 years, pregnant women, and elderly individuals, providing essential health education, consultations, tests, and family planning services.
