Royal Intervention Resolves BUA Cement Labor Dispute

A labor dispute involving 400 drivers at BUA Cement in Okpella was successfully resolved through royal intervention by Mike Sado. The situation escalated due to protests that led to the dismissal of the drivers and a shutdown of the company's transport operations, causing significant economic challenges in the community.

The Edo State government was aware of the situation and community leaders sought resolution. A high-powered delegation met with BUA Chairman Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, who agreed to reinstate the drivers and pay their salary arrears for the period of January to March.

Additionally, the meeting addressed broader community development issues, including the long-promised construction of a hospital, with plans for a groundbreaking ceremony. The monarch emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts amicably to improve living standards and create opportunities for the youth in the community.
