Russian Drone Strike in Kyiv Kills Two at Petrol Station

On Friday morning, a Russian drone strike on a petrol station in Kyiv resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left several others hospitalized. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the fatalities on social media, stating that a third injured person later died in the hospital.

The strikes occurred at two state-owned Ukrnafta petrol stations in the Dniprovskyi and Obolonskyi districts, hitting within ten minutes of each other. Klitschko reported that the Obolonskyi station was struck twice, indicating a "double-tap" tactic that endangers first responders.

Initial reports indicated six injuries, with four individuals remaining under treatment. Ukrnafta CEO Bogdan Kukura condemned the strikes as deliberate attacks on civilian facilities.

This incident follows a previous strike on Thursday, which injured four people at another Ukrnafta station. Analysts suggest these attacks aim to disrupt economic activity in Ukraine, with Russia increasing its use of faster, jet-powered drones against critical infrastructure.
