Africa Turns to Dangote Refinery Amid Fuel Supply Crisis

Several African governments, notably South Africa, are actively seeking fuel supplies from Dangote's refinery as traditional supply routes from the Middle East face unprecedented disruptions due to geopolitical tensions, particularly the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran. Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, indicated in a recent interview that the refinery, located in Lagos and capable of processing 650,000 barrels per day, is positioned to provide a critical buffer against volatility in the global oil market.

This shift reflects a broader trend among African nations to diversify their energy sources and enhance energy security, moving away from reliance on the unstable Persian Gulf.
