Sahara Group Foundation Launches Recycling Hub in Nasarawa

Sahara Group Foundation officially launched a recycling hub in Nasarawa, in partnership with the Nasarawa State Waste Management Authority (NASWAMSA). Chidilim Menakaya, the director of the Sahara Group Foundation, emphasized the foundation's commitment to scalable solutions that combine environmental stewardship with community empowerment.

The initiative aims to expand access to sustainable waste management across Nigeria, particularly in Masaka. It is projected to directly and indirectly impact 2,000 livelihoods by managing 1,000 tons of recyclable materials.

Ishaku Ibrahim, the director of NASWAMSA, described the partnership as a significant step towards strengthening waste management responses and creating socio-economic opportunities for residents. The hub is designed to address waste challenges in Masaka and surrounding communities, improving environmental outcomes and fostering a cleaner future through innovative collaboration and local participation.
