Chanja Datti Launches Plastic Recycling Center in Abuja

Chanja Datti Recycling Co. Ltd has intensified its efforts to promote plastic waste recycling in Abuja by launching a plastic collection center in Jabi.

This initiative is part of a renewed effort to advance environmental sustainability and empower communities. During the awareness campaign, Mr.

Gabriel Onyebuoli emphasized the principles of a circular economy, focusing on waste reduction and the creation of value from recycled materials. The center encourages residents to bring recyclable plastics in exchange for financial rewards.

Common household plastics identified for recycling include PET bottles and HDPE materials. Mr.

Onyebuoli noted that poor public awareness is a significant challenge facing recycling efforts in Nigeria. Miss Martha Eginiwin from the NGO highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of recycling, stressing the need for stronger government policies to encourage proper waste management practices.

The AEPB, represented by Mr. Sherifat Lawal and Mr.

Eyo Maureen Chidinma, is committed to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful environmental protection efforts.
