Sahara Group Launches MAD Grant Initiative for Sustainable Development at University of Lagos

Sahara Group, a prominent energy conglomerate, has introduced the MAD Grant Initiative to support sustainable development and enhance human capacity in Africa. The initiative focuses on advancing research and providing grants to visionary academics to drive success.

The first grant cycle, inaugurated at the University of Lagos for 2024-2025, awarded three transformative projects addressing youth unemployment, digital inclusion, and governance. Recipients received $12,000 each to scale their impactful work.

The initiative represents Sahara Group's commitment to identifying and amplifying sustainable solutions for economic growth. Notable awardees include Professor Sundai Abayomi Adebisi, Dr.

Victor Odumuyiwa, and Professor Abdul Hame Sulaimon, who will leverage the grants to expand their proven models for socio-economic progress. The initiative also supports entrepreneurship education, digital skills training, and governance reforms.

Sahara Group plans to replicate the MAD Grant Initiative across Africa to drive sustainable development and innovation in education.
