Sahara Group Empowers Young Africans in Energy Sector

Sahara Group has called on young Africans to transform energy challenges into entrepreneurial ventures during the third year of its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Business Incubator (EIBIC) program at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The program aims to help students develop a strong entrepreneurial mindset and design solutions to ongoing energy development challenges.

Sahara Group delivered a thought leadership session titled "Become a M.D. Entrepreneur: Powering Africa's Energy Future," emphasizing the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset in making a difference.

The group also honored outstanding support through the EIBIC Champion Award, recognizing its partnership with UNILAG, represented by Vice Chancellor Prof. Folasade Ogunsola.

Bethel Obioma, Head of Corporate Communications at Sahara Group, highlighted the need for innovative solutions to close Africa's energy access gap, which is the widest globally. Ejiro Grai, Director of Government and Sustainability at Sahara Group, stressed the importance of multidisciplinary approaches to address energy access and introduced models like solar power and circular bioenergy to enhance rural energy access.
