Sahara Power Group Joins Mission 300 for Electricity Access

Sahara Power Group has officially joined Mission 300, a high-level private sector council announced by the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank (AfDB), with the goal of providing electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030. Kola Adesina, Managing Director of Sahara Power Group, has been appointed to the council, which aims to mobilize private investment and implement strategies to enhance business experiences in Africa's energy sector.

The council, which includes senior leaders and experts, is designed to translate ambitious goals into impactful actions. Adesina highlighted the critical role of the private sector in closing Africa's electricity access gap, stating that strategic collaboration and sustained private investment are essential.

Mission 300 aims to create a credible platform for aligning policy with bankable projects, with Sahara Power Group contributing its expertise in developing and financing power assets. The initiative is set to launch in 2024 and has already connected 44 million people to electricity across 30 countries.
