Umahi Orders Opening of Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road for Eid

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, directed the immediate opening of sections of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano road to ease movement for travelers during the Eid al-Adha celebrations. A press statement from his office indicated that the directive was given to the contractor handling the road project, Infouest Nigeria Limited, as part of efforts to reduce traffic congestion and ensure safer travel along this major highway corridor.

Umahi noted the expected increase in vehicular movement during the festive period and emphasized the need to provide a smoother and more convenient journey for motorists and road users. He also mentioned that previous accidents along the highway had been cleared to restore normal movement.

Security agencies will be deployed along the route to maintain law and order and guarantee the safety of commuters throughout the Eid celebrations. The Abuja–Kaduna–Kano road is a crucial transport corridor linking the federal capital territory to several northern states and serves as a key route for commercial passenger transport.
