Kano Hisbah Arrests Over 600 for Indecent Dressing

During the Sallah celebrations, Kano Hisbah arrested over 600 individuals for various offenses, primarily indecent dressing. Dr. Mujahiddin Aminuddin, the Deputy Command General, stated that the arrests were part of efforts to safeguard moral culture during the festivities.

A total of 9,500 operatives were deployed across Kano to monitor the celebrations. Among those arrested were 275 youths for indecent behavior, 85 tricycle drivers carrying female passengers improperly, and 286 women dressed indecently.

Additionally, local government chairmen were involved in cases where children were picked up from hotels without parental consent, leading to their eventual release after parents were contacted. Other cases included a husband and wife accused of violent acts, youths involved in providing lodging for adultery, and a trader allegedly keeping weapons.

Dr. Aminuddin emphasized that the Hisbah will not tolerate activities contrary to Islamic values and warned event proprietors against hosting such activities.
