Kano Hisbah Arrests 583 for Immoral Acts During Sallah

During the Eid el-Fitr celebrations, the Kano State Hisbah Board arrested no fewer than 583 individuals, including young men and women, for allegedly engaging in immoral acts. The Deputy Command General of the board, Mujahid Aminuddeen, disclosed that the arrests were part of an ongoing enforcement drive aimed at combating immorality in the state.

A total of 9,500 personnel were deployed across Kano State to monitor and check excesses during the festivities. Among those arrested, 275 commercial tricycle operators were apprehended for plaiting hair and sporting hairstyles deemed indecent, while 21 were arrested for wearing three-quarter trousers.

Additionally, 286 young women were detained for allegedly wearing indecent clothing that exposed their bodies. The operation also led to the recovery of 66 missing children, who were subsequently reunited with their families.

This initiative is part of the Hisbah Board's efforts to sanitize the state and uphold Islamic teachings.
