SanlamAllianz Appoints Jacquelin Agweh as CEO

SanlamAllianz General Insurance announced the appointment of Jacquelin Uch Agweh as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 11, 2026. Agweh has over three decades of extensive experience in the insurance industry, covering areas such as underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, and technical operations.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Executive Director of Technical Operations at SanlamAllianz General Insurance and held senior management roles at FBN General Insurance, Sanlam General Insurance, Oasis Insurance PLC, Kelsan Insurance Broker Limited, and Acen Insurance Company Limited. Chris Ekwonwa, the Group Head of Strategic Marketing and Corporate Communications, stated that Agweh's appointment marks a significant milestone in the company's commitment to strengthening its leadership capacity and enhancing operational excellence within Nigeria's insurance sector.
