Sanwo-Olu Denies Resignation Reports, Calls Them False

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially dismissed reports claiming he intends to resign due to health reasons. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Gboyega Akosile, the governor described the reports as false and misleading.

Akosile emphasized that there was no directive given by Sanwo-Olu regarding resignation, asserting that the governor is in good health, mentally sound, and actively fulfilling his responsibilities as a leader. The statement also clarified that Sanwo-Olu recently received a courtesy visit from his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, who informed him of his intent to contest for the governorship in the future.

The meeting was described as cordial and consistent with normal political engagement. The governor urged the public to disregard the baseless reports, which he characterized as part of a pattern of misinformation aimed at misleading the residents of Lagos State.
