Sanwo-Olu Empowers 40,000 Lagos Residents for SMEs

On Tuesday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State revealed that his administration has empowered around 40,000 residents with business tools to support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) over the last seven years. This initiative, part of the Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI) Empowerment Programme, aligns with the government's commitment to poverty reduction, economic inclusion, and entrepreneurship.

The event took place at Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja, organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The tools provided included sewing machines, agricultural processing machines, and catering utensils, among others.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the MESI programme is crucial for improving livelihoods and enabling residents to achieve financial independence. He reiterated the administration's promise to create opportunities and support businesses, ensuring that the benefits of governance reach all communities.

The MESI programme is part of the THEMES+ Agenda, aimed at sustainable development that reaches grassroots levels.
