Lagos State Empowers 82,000 Businesses with LSETF

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has successfully supported over 82,000 businesses through capacity-building initiatives, training, advisory services, and business development aid aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of entrepreneurs. The initiative has also resulted in the creation of 20,000 job opportunities for Lagos State residents.

Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, made this announcement during a press briefing at Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, to launch the “Access to Market – Lagos on Display 2026” business exhibition. The event, which runs until August 8, 2026, allows over 300 businesses from across Lagos State to showcase their diverse products and services.

Ajigbotafe, represented by Shitta Demilola, the director of Employment in the ministry, emphasized the importance of market access in maximizing enterprise growth, stating that while business structures have been strengthened, capacity alone is insufficient without market access.
