Saraki Discusses 2027 Presidential Ambitions and Zoning

Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President and Governor of Kwara State, spoke on Thursday regarding his potential candidacy for the presidency in the 2027 elections. He emphasized the importance of political fairness and the need to respect zoning arrangements that favor the southern region of Nigeria.

Saraki's comments were made during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today. He acknowledged the historical context of presidential power in Nigeria, noting that the southern region has held the presidency longer than the northern region.

Saraki also referred to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and its deliberations on zoning, highlighting that the party had previously supported the proposal for the presidency to remain in the south for the 2027 elections.
