Houthi Attacks in Saudi Arabia Injure 73 Civilians

Houthi rebels from Yemen have been accused by Saudi Arabia of conducting attacks on civilian and economic targets across four southern provinces, resulting in at least 73 injuries, including women and children. Major-General Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, condemned these strikes as a "dangerous escalation" and a "blatant violation" of Saudi sovereignty, warning that the coalition would take necessary operational measures to address the threat.

The Saudi Ministry confirmed that multiple energy facilities were struck, causing fires and temporary operational suspensions. The Houthis acknowledged the attacks, framing them as retaliation for over 120 Saudi airstrikes on Yemen in the preceding days.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the group executed a "large-scale, long-range military operation" using ballistic missiles and drones. The ongoing conflict has seen significant casualties and displacement, with over 1,078 people killed or wounded since August 24, and more than 21,000 displaced since the latest offensive began.
