Saudi Arabia's Jubail Petrochemical Complex Attacked

An overnight attack struck a petrochemical complex in Jubail, located in eastern Saudi Arabia, prompting evacuations in the affected area. The attack involved a barrage of missiles, with Saudi air defense forces successfully intercepting seven ballistic missiles aimed at the kingdom's eastern region.

The incident occurred shortly after a similar attack on Iranian facilities, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, stated that the country conducted a powerful strike against Iran's largest petrochemical facility in Asaluyeh.

Following the missile attack, Saudi authorities temporarily closed the King Fahd Bridge, which connects Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, as a precautionary measure, although it was reopened shortly thereafter. The Saudi government has accused Iran of regularly targeting its energy installations, amidst a broader context of sustained attacks across the Gulf region.
