Schneider Electric, Enactus Empower Varsity Students To Develop Energy Solutions

Schneider Electric and Enactus, an international nonprofit organization, collaborated to empower university students in developing innovative and sustainable energy solutions to address community needs. The partnership recently concluded the 2025 Enactus Nigeria National Competition, where students presented their initiatives.

Schneider Electric Nigeria's country president, Ajibola Akindele, emphasized the company's commitment to upskilling youth for the future. The Battery Innovation Challenge saw Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi (JoSTUM) secure first place with their ENERGIV solution, converting plastic waste into carbon nanotubes to enhance battery performance.

The competition highlighted the importance of collaboration between the private sector and academia in driving lasting impact. Schneider Electric's Access to Education coordinator, Funmilayo Olakitan, expressed satisfaction in seeing youth develop entrepreneurial skills for a sustainable future.

The partnership aims to train one million youth by 2025, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 11.
