Nigeria's AfCFTA Coordination Office Achieves Key Milestones

The AfCFTA Coordination Office released a scorecard detailing Nigeria's implementation progress of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The report, titled "Nigeria AfCFTA Consolidated Implementation Report 2024-2025," outlines key milestones achieved during the review period, including Nigeria's formal participation in AfCFTA trade arrangements.

The late Mr. Olusegun Awolowo's leadership is acknowledged for renewing hope in Nigeria's commitment to the AfCFTA agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Dr. Olusegun Olutayo, recently appointed as the National Coordinator of the AfCFTA Coordination Office, emphasized the office's focus on strengthening institutional frameworks and expanding Nigeria's trade presence across African markets.

The scorecard also indicates efforts to enhance stakeholder collaboration, promote export readiness, and improve regulatory coordination to enable Nigerian businesses to leverage opportunities within the AfCFTA market. Additionally, the office aims to build capacity among regulatory agencies regarding AfCFTA rules and procedures.
