Nigeria's AfCFTA Progress Report Highlights Key Achievements

The AfCFTA Coordination Office released a scorecard detailing Nigeria's progress in implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) under the leadership of Mr. Olusegun Awolowo, the late National Coordinator, and the current coordinator, Dr.

Olusegun Olutayo. The report, titled "Nigeria AfCFTA Consolidated Implementation Report 2024-2025," outlines key milestones achieved, including Nigeria's formal participation in AfCFTA trade arrangements and strengthened institutional coordination.

The report emphasizes the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to transform Nigeria's role in the AfCFTA, enhancing stakeholder collaboration and export readiness. It highlights Nigeria's successful execution of its first AfCFTA-compliant shipment, marking a historic step in integrating the country into the continental trade system.

The scorecard also indicates efforts to improve regulatory coordination and build capacity among export and regulatory agencies to navigate complex AfCFTA rules, aiming to enhance Nigeria's trade presence across African markets.
