Scores Of Insurgents Neutralised, Arms Recovered In Failed Ambush Attack In Borno

Scores of Boko Haram insurgents were neutralized in a failed ambush attempt in Kareto town, Borno State, by Operation Hadin Kai troops. The insurgents detonated an IED and engaged in direct fire with the troops, leading to their neutralization.

The troops recovered a PKT automatic machine gun, rifles, ammunition, hand grenades, and other items from the ambush site. In a separate operation in Yobe State, troops and CJTF members engaged in a gunfight with terrorists in Sassawa village, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists.

The army commended the troops for their resilience and motivation in maintaining an aggressive posture to deny terrorists freedom of action. Operation Hadin Kai continues to pursue its mandate of combating insurgency in the region.
