Seaman's Schnapps Celebrates Yoruba Culture at Festival

Seaman's Schnapps reaffirmed its commitment to preserving Yoruba cultural heritage through its participation in the 2026 World Egungun Festival held at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, Oyo State. The festival attracted approximately 18,000 worshippers, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts, featuring 150 Egungun masquerades and 120 cultural groups from Nigeria and the diaspora.

Traditional rulers and custodians of culture, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Rashidi Ladoja, attended the event. Gbemilek Lawal, the brand manager of Seaman's Schnapps, stated that the company's presence at the festival reflects its long-standing support for traditional practices associated with Yoruba culture.

The festival, which has gained international recognition and support from UNESCO, included various performances such as masquerade displays, drumming, dancing, and traditional games. Seaman's Schnapps sponsored awards for outstanding performances, with Egungun Saki winning in the color category and Egungun Ibadan Parapo winning in the spectacular performance category.
