Ojude Oba Festival 2026 Celebrates Ijebu Heritage

The Ojude Oba Festival 2026 took place in Ijebu Ode, celebrating Ijebu heritage and cultural pride, with Guinness Nigeria as a key sponsor. This year's festival was significant as it was held without the reigning Awujal following the passing of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona on July 13, 2025, after a 65-year reign.

The festival continued under the stewardship of Regent Chief Sonni Folorunso Kuku, honoring the late monarch's wish for the festival to proceed uninterrupted. The event featured vibrant displays, traditional music, and performances from cultural troupes, including renowned Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba.

The festival attracted a diverse crowd, including dignitaries, business leaders, and members of the global Ijebu diaspora, reaffirming its importance as a cultural tourism asset in Nigeria. Guinness Nigeria's participation extended beyond sponsorship, reflecting a commitment to cultural heritage and community development, with the Orijin Village returning to the festival to enhance the cultural experience.
