Gunman Targets Officials at White House Correspondents' Dinner

On Saturday night, during the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C., a gunman named Cole Toma Allen, aged 31, allegedly attempted to breach a security checkpoint. He was armed with multiple weapons, including a shotgun, handgun, and knife, and reportedly targeted senior officials from President Donald Trump's administration.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanch indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the suspect planned to attack top government figures attending the high-profile event.

The incident led to a gunfire exchange with U.S. Secret Service agents, resulting in the suspect being struck due to protective body armor.
