Kaduna Peace Model Receives Praise from Security Institute

The National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his comments on the state's peace model during a study tour at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Saturday. Uduak Uduak Ituen, leading the study tour, emphasized that insights gained would contribute to a paper recommending actions to strengthen Nigeria's national security.

Governor Sani noted that the Kaduna peace model has been recognized with the prestigious 2026 Governor of the Year Award at the National Leadership Summit in March. He highlighted that sustainable security is built on trust and community engagement rather than solely on enforcement.

The governor also pointed out that security and development are interconnected, and instability often arises from neglecting underlying causes such as infrastructure, education, and social welfare. The study tour was described as an invaluable platform for exchanging ideas and strategies to inform policy and practice at both state and national levels.
