PDP Secretariat Seized Amid Leadership Crisis - Internal Party Dispute Unfolds

Security operatives have taken over the PDP Secretariat amidst a leadership crisis. The State Working Committee (SWC) and National Working Committee (NWC) of the party have been embroiled in a dispute over the dissolution of the state executive committee.

While the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, announced the dissolution and the appointment of a caretaker committee, the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, issued a counter statement asserting the state executive committee's legitimacy. The Chairman of the PDP in Akwa Ibom state, Àniekan Akpan, condemned the sack and affirmed the state executive committee's continuity until the end of their tenure.

The situation highlights internal divisions within the party and the struggle for control at the state level.
