Nigeria Customs Generates N9.798bn Revenue in 2026

The Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of Abdullahi Kaila at the Seme Area Command, reported a revenue generation of N9.798 billion from March 2025 to March 2026. This figure represents a significant increase of N7.610 billion, or 448%, compared to the N2.188 billion collected during the same period in 2025.

Kaila attributed this achievement to strengthened compliance mechanisms, improved stakeholder cooperation, and intensified anti-revenue leakage measures. The command conducted aggressive intelligence-led enforcement activities, resulting in the seizure of 1,000 parcels of cannabis sativa and various unregistered pharmaceutical products, including codeine-based cough syrup.

Additionally, the command intercepted substantial quantities of foreign goods, including 2,000 bags of foreign parboiled rice and 340 kegs of foreign vegetable oil, with a total value of N501 million. The command remains committed to protecting the economy, supporting local industries, and ensuring compliance with import-export regulations.
