Senate Approves Tinubu's Nominees for FRC and NHRC Boards

On October 28, the Senate confirmed President Bola Tinubu's nominees to the boards of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Dr Abdullahi Saidu was confirmed as Executive Chairman of the FRC, with additional members including Muhammad Asmau Mai-Eka (North-West), Muhammad Aliyu Makama (North-Central), Suleiman Gidado (North-East), Hon. Louis O. Ndukwe (South-South), Amechi Ugwele (South-East), and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola (South-West).

For the NHRC, Dr Salamatu Husaini Suleiman was confirmed as Chairman, with members including Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim, Edmund Chinonye Obiagwu, SAN, Ogunji Chidozie Kingsley, Oluwakemi Asiwaju-Okenyodo, Professor Adedeji Adekunle, Ayo Adewuyi, Muhammad Adelodun, Eze Anaba, Maupe Ogun-Yusuf, and Patience Patrick Udoh. The confirmation followed reports from the Senate Committees on Finance and Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio congratulated the appointees on their confirmations.
