Nigerian Senate Probes Railway Projects Under Buhari Administration

The Nigerian Senate has initiated a probe into loans and railway projects carried out during former President Buhari's tenure. The investigation, led by Senator Adam Oshiomhole, aims to address derailments and fund mismanagement in the country's rail projects.

Concerns were raised over the safety risks posed by multiple derailments and mechanical failures on the Itakpe-Warri rail corridor. Senator Godswil Akpabio criticized the state of infrastructure under Buhari's supervision, questioning the high costs and quality of the rail projects.

The Senate directed the Ministry of Transport and NRC to repair the rail line promptly and enhance safety standards.
