Senator Threatens Legal Action Over Delayed Resumption by National Assembly

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha threatened legal action against the National Assembly for delaying her resumption following a suspension. The Kogi Central Senator's counsel, Chief Michael Numa SAN, warned of initiating proceedings due to the Assembly's alleged disobedience of a court order mandating her return to plenary.

Senator Akpoti-Uduagha emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and accused the Clerk of the National Assembly of violating the Constitution and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers. The senator vowed to pursue contempt proceedings and disciplinary measures against the Clerk for obstructing her resumption.
