Senator Natasha Akpoti has officially emerged as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi Central senatorial district ahead of the 2027 general elections. This confirmation was announced in a statement released in Abuja on Thursday, with details provided by Mike Idoko, the special assistant on media and public affairs.

The selection process involved a comprehensive exercise conducted simultaneously across 57 wards in Kogi Central, ensuring full participation from party members. The final results were collated at Kahal Cinema in Oken, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitoring the entire process alongside media representatives to ensure transparency and compliance with electoral procedures.
