Senator Onawo Resigns from ADC Amid Party Crisis

Senator Onawo has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing ongoing crises within the party as the primary reason for his departure. In a letter addressed to the ADC ward chairman of Galadimawa Ward in Doma Local Government Area, Onawo indicated that he had consulted widely with various stakeholders and constituents before making this decision.

He attributed his resignation to the prevailing circumstances within the party structure, which he described as embroiled in endless legal battles. Onawo emphasized that these issues hindered the party's ability to provide cohesive support necessary for effective representation of his constituents.

He expressed gratitude to his supporters and wished the party continued progress and success. Previously, Onawo was a member of the House of Representatives and contested the ADC governorship primary in Nasarawa State, where he lost to Nuhu Angbazo.

He had initially won his election on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting to the ADC.
