Senator Ogoshi Onawo Resigns from ADC Amid Crises

Senator Ogoshi Onawo, representing the Nasarawa South Senatorial District, officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on July 2, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the ADC ward chairman of Galadimawa Ward in Doma Local Government Area, he cited persistent internal crises and protracted legal disputes at the national level as the primary reasons for his departure.

Onawo's resignation will take effect on June 15, 2026. He expressed that the ongoing internal wrangling and legal battles within the party have made it increasingly difficult to pursue developmental mandates entrusted to him by the electorate.

He believes that the current party structure does not provide the cohesive support necessary to focus on effective representation and the realization of developmental progress.
