Trump Calls for Naval Support to Secure Strait of Hormuz

On Saturday, Donald Trump called on allied nations to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for global oil shipments, to help secure the area amid escalating tensions related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Trump emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait open and safe, particularly in light of Iran's attempts to close it.

He expressed hope that countries such as China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the UK would join the United States in this effort. The White House reiterated Trump's stance, stating that the Strait of Hormuz is critical for global energy supply, with approximately 20 million barrels of oil passing through it daily, accounting for roughly one-fifth of global consumption.

The recent tensions have already led to a sharp increase in oil prices and fears of prolonged supply shortages, as attacks on tankers and maritime traffic disruptions have raised concerns about a broader regional conflict.
