Senegal Refuses to Return AFCON Trophy Amid CAF Dispute

Senegal has firmly refused to return the AFCON trophy as tensions escalate with the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This dispute arose after Senegal's dramatic stoppage-time exit from the tournament, which was marred by a controversial penalty awarded to Morocco.

Head coach Pape Thiaw and the Senegalese officials have expressed their defiance against CAF's decision, describing it as corrupt and demanding an independent international investigation into the circumstances surrounding the decision. The Senegalese government, represented by Bassir Diomay Fay, has taken a strong stance in support of the national team, while Secretary General Abdoulay Sow has reiterated that the trophy will not be returned.
