Goldman Sachs Executives Praise Dangote's Refinery in Lagos

Senior executives from Goldman Sachs, including Co-Chief Executive Officer Anthony Gutman, visited Dangote Industries Limited’s integrated petroleum refinery, petrochemicals, and fertiliser complex in Lagos. The delegation toured the 700,000 barrels per day refinery and expressed admiration for the achievements of Aliko Dangote and his organization, noting the project's ambition, scale, quality, and the culture of the workforce.

Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, emphasized the transformative potential of long-term investment in Africa and outlined the Group's growth ambitions beyond its current strategic plan. He stated that the company aims to generate US$100 billion in annual revenue by 2030, based on conservative projections.

The Goldman Sachs team included Adib N. Zouein, Ryad Yousuf, and Jimi Adesanya, among others, and was received by Dangote and other key executives.

The visit followed discussions between Dangote and Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, regarding investment partnerships.
