Seplat Ends Routine Gas Flaring in Nigeria's Operations

Seplat has announced the successful termination of routine gas flaring in its onshore operations across Nigeria, achieving this goal by the end of the previous year. Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, Samson Ezugwori, stated that the company is committed to ending routine gas flaring across its operations by the end of 2025.

Seplat is investing in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as part of its policy to ensure availability and affordability for consumers in the country. The company plans to establish an LPG plant in Sapel, Delta State, with the first truckload of LPG expected to be offloaded by April 20, 2026.

This initiative is part of Seplat's commitment to contribute to the availability of LPG for cooking gas in Nigeria. Ezugwori emphasized that the Sapel plant is specifically located within their operational area, reinforcing the company's dedication to deepening oil exploration in the country and fulfilling its social responsibilities to host communities.
