SERAP Sues Governors Over Mismanagement of N400bn Security Votes

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against state governors, including Nyesom Wike, for their alleged failure to account for the N400 billion security votes spent. SERAP is demanding transparency in the allocation and utilization of public funds meant for security purposes, citing concerns over escalating insecurity despite significant budget allocations.

The lawsuit aims to compel the governors to disclose details of security vote expenditures and implement concrete plans to enhance security infrastructure. The case was filed in the Federal High Court in Abuja.
