SERAP Sues Governors, Including Wike, Over Security Votes Spending in Nigeria

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian state governors, including Nyesom Wike, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The lawsuit accuses the governors of failing to account for billions of naira spent as security votes, despite escalating insecurity in the country.

SERAP is demanding full disclosure of the security funds and transparency in their utilization. The legal action aims to compel the governors to defend their public spending and provide detailed reports on the security vote allocations.

SERAP's lawyers, Oluwakemi Agunbiade, Andrew Nwankwo, and Valentina Adegok, are representing the organization in this case.
