Banigo Barred from APC Primary Elections Ahead of Vote

Banigo, a serving senator who served as the deputy governor of Rivers State under Nyesom Wike from 2015 to 2023, has been disqualified from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections. This disqualification is part of a broader decision that also affects two other aspirants, Tein Jackrich and Hon Ojukay, who have also been barred from the primaries.

The announcement was made public by Chubik Ikenga, the state public secretary of the APC, during a release in Port Harcourt. The party has advised all aspirants to comply with the guidelines set forth, and the disqualifications are part of the party's efforts to ensure adherence to these regulations.

The primaries were previously scheduled, and the party has urged members to review the compliance report regarding the aspirants.
