Eniola Bello to Present Book on Nigeria's Politics

Eniola Bello, managing director of ThisDay newspaper, is set to present her book titled "Shadows: Protest Essays on Africa’s Most Consequential Country (1999–2023)" at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja on July 23, 2026. The book comprises 900 pages and features a keynote address titled "Strengthening Electoral Institutions: Pathway to Free, Fair, and Peaceful Elections 2027," which will be delivered by Prof.

Joash Amupitan, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The collection includes selected essays that critique Nigeria's political journey during the first 25 years of the Fourth Republic, addressing various issues such as governance, corruption, human rights abuses, and electoral fraud.

The essays reflect on the complex socio-political dynamics that have shaped Nigeria's democracy from 1999 to 2023, examining the challenges and triumphs within the political system.
