Gen Awali Kazir Advocates for Conscious Design in Nigeria

During a public presentation of two books, "Art Design Culture" and "White Guava War," authored by Professor Ashiedu Ogboli from the University of Maiduguri, Gen Awali Kazir, a former military administrator of Kwara State, stressed the necessity for Nigeria's development to be consciously designed. He argued that development programs must be rigorously planned, particularly in the arts, to produce meaningful work that examines the philosophical underpinnings of art.

Kazir highlighted that the book "White Guava War" reflects the author's shock at the destruction caused by the Nigerian Civil War. He asserted that the fight is not just about winning but also about ensuring a society that promotes peace and preserves civilization.

Kazir called for a renewed investment in Nigeria's publishing industry, warning that declining reading habits and a weak distribution network threaten literary development across Nigeria and the African continent.
