ACP Bukola Kuti Redeployed to NIPSS by IGP Egbetokun

Acting Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has redeployed Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bukola Kuti to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State. This redeployment took immediate effect and is part of ongoing administrative adjustments following changes in leadership at the police headquarters.

ACP Kuti's tenure as Principal Staff Officer 2 (PSO2) had attracted public scrutiny, particularly regarding allegations of rapid career progression within the Nigeria Police Force, raising concerns about the transparency of the promotion process. The decision to redeploy Kuti has been interpreted by some as a routine administrative measure, while others view it as a strategic move to stabilize internal dynamics amid ongoing controversies, including a lawsuit involving activist Omoyele Sowore.

The Nigeria Police Force has faced criticism regarding perceived irregularities in promotion processes, especially concerning officers with longer years of service who feel sidelined.
